3 x International male model of the year Alfred Hsinglander also known as “A Rock” credits friend, mentor, and fellow international supermodel Derek Zoolander for inspiring him to pursoo modeling.

“When I met D Rock 8 years ago, he inspired me to pursue male modeling.” says Hsinglander.

Some call him “the creator of Blue Steel,” Derek Zoolander, D Rock, or even “Ben Stiller” (not sure what that’s about)… but I call him a friend. (I also call him D Rock.)

And I think it might be bold for me to say, but I am bold so I might say that D Rock and I created Blue Steel “together” on that fateful day over 8 years ago when we first crossed swords. We were both wearing “blue” and holding “steel” when we realized the two objects colliding could create beauty that needed to be shared with the world.

He is a master at his craft so he really took the looks that followed to a new level with FerrariLe Tigre, and La Habra.

I’ve been working on my latest look for 8 years and now I am ready to bring it out of the shadows. “Where there is darkness, I will bring light” sounds pretty cool and is something I’ve been wanting to say for a while now.

I’ve been working with an amazing photographer who is just so lucratif and so hot right now shooting out of Opulen Studio, who without her help, I would not have these pieces to share with you.

I am working on a few other looks as well that you might be able to catch a glimpse of in my eyes (not literally inside my eyes silly), but those looks are not still yet not perfected. And now… I present to you Bullet Steed! It channels the strength of steel and the majesty of a hundred stallions!

Last off, I’m going to leave you with a quote that sounds a lot like me but is actually another gud friend Hansel McD. The lesson I want share is to just live life. Rip it and grip it.

I hear a lot of words like “beauty” and “handsomeness” and “incredibly chiseled features.” To me, that’s like a vanity that – a self-absorption that I try to steer clear of. I dig the bungee. I mean, for me, it’s just the way I live my life. I grip it, and I rip it. I live with a lot of flair. I live it on the edge, where I gotta be. I wasn’t like every other kid, you know, who dreams about being an astronaut. I was always more interested in, uh, what bark was made out of on a tree. Richard Gere’s a real hero of mine. Sting. Sting will be another person who’s a hero. The music that he’s created over the years. I don’t really listen to it, but the fact that he’s making it, I respect that. I care desperately about what I do. Do I know what product I’m selling? No. Do I know what I’m doing today? No. But I’m here, and I’m gonna give it my best shot.
