They were shooting a <strong>boxing movie<\/strong> with a Chinese cast planned for sometime in 2015. They were looking for an action coordinator and wanted to see some of my work. So with the help of <strong>Daniel Cotroneo, Eliver Ling, Rocky Abou-Sakher, <\/strong>and<strong> Jason Yee<\/strong> I decided to shoot a quick\u00a0boxing video just for practice and to show them my shooting style.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/boxing-match-up-a2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1699\" src=\"http:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/818-Boxing-Jason-Yee.jpg\" alt=\"818 Boxing Jason Yee\" width=\"1239\" height=\"695\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/818-Boxing-Jason-Yee.jpg 1239w, https:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/818-Boxing-Jason-Yee-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/818-Boxing-Jason-Yee-1024x574.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/818-Boxing-Jason-Yee-700x393.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1239px) 100vw, 1239px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was great working with my wushu bro\u00a0<strong>Jason Yee<\/strong> on this short because we had wanted to shoot something together for a while. Jason Yee is a highly decorated martial artist who was part of the <strong>US Wushu Team<\/strong> and went to the <strong>1st World Wushu Championships<\/strong> where he competed in both <strong>taolu<\/strong> and <strong>sanda<\/strong>. After I competed at the <strong>10th World Wushu Championships<\/strong> we began\u00a0working out together. I appreciate the sanda training sessions with Jason; there&#8217;s always something to learn and we always have a good work out.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1698\" src=\"http:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/818-Boxing-Alfred.jpg\" alt=\"818 Boxing Alfred\" width=\"1239\" height=\"699\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/818-Boxing-Alfred.jpg 1239w, https:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/818-Boxing-Alfred-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/818-Boxing-Alfred-1024x578.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/818-Boxing-Alfred-700x395.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1239px) 100vw, 1239px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This short was shot in 1 day and then with the help of <strong>Sal Redner<\/strong>, we edited the footage. It took us some time to convert all of the <strong>Red<\/strong> footage into Final Cut. I learned a lot on the editing end and it was also fun spending a few evenings at Sal&#8217;s studio grabbing dinner and editing the shoot.<\/p>\n<p>Mainly we focused on the fight scene at the end, but you will see that we created a short story around it. It&#8217;s the story of two brothers who have not seen each other in a long time. They finally see each other again for the first time in a long while at their old boxing gym.
