This is the year of the horse and I have a feeling it is going to be a really good year. In Chinese there is a saying that goes &#8220;\u9a6c\u5230\u6210\u529f&#8221; which means when the horse comes you will reach success. It is a proverb wishing someone complete and immediate success.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/year-of-the-horse-horses.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"year of the horse horses\" src=\"http:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/year-of-the-horse-horses.jpg\" width=\"478\" height=\"707\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of complete and immediate success, the beginning of this lunar year has already showered me with tons of fortune. I am in pre-production on a <strong>SAG short film<\/strong> as an <strong>actor<\/strong> and <strong>action coordinator<\/strong>. I just shot an editorial <strong>James Bond<\/strong> themed shoot with an awesome photographer in downtown LA. (I&#8217;ll provide more details on those in a separate post.) Last but not least, I along with my brother performing alongside the rest of the <strong>Wushu Shaolin<\/strong> team have been booked on over 8 performances within the span of this and last week!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/wushu-shaolin-monks-and-demo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"wushu shaolin monks and demo\" src=\"http:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/wushu-shaolin-monks-and-demo.jpg\" width=\"1250\" height=\"960\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We started off with a performance at <strong>Brentwood High<\/strong>. I performed <strong>Chang Quan<\/strong> (Long Fist) and <strong>Jian Shu<\/strong> (Straight Sword) alongside several highly skilled <strong>monks<\/strong> and world class <strong>wushu athletes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The next demo was to be in Nevada. That day I had a full day photo shoot for the <strong>007<\/strong> themed <strong>editorial shoot<\/strong>. Immediately after I met up the Wushu Shaolin team. At night we began our journey to <strong>Nevada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Eureka-Hotel-and-Casino.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Eureka Hotel and Casino\" src=\"http:\/\/alfredrocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Eureka-Hotel-and-Casino.jpg\" width=\"1306\" height=\"830\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We arrived at <strong>Eureka Hotel and Casino Resort<\/strong>. We drove passed <strong>Las Vegas<\/strong> and entered into <strong>Mesquite, NV<\/strong>. Though we had a long night of driving, the next day we were able to grab some buffet and get in a quick swim&#8230; and by quick swim I mean, my brother and I dove into <strong>sub 30 degree water<\/strong> to wake ourselves up! We did end up in Vegas, but it was pretty much just a pit stop. Shifu Sal, Alvin, and I took turns on the pads and delivered a few kicks and punches to the gut.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fihq3qJbOhM?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After we got back to LA it was about 3am the next day. We slept for a few hours and hit the road again. We traveled to <strong>Orange County<\/strong>, <strong>La Brea<\/strong>, <strong>Beverly Hills<\/strong>, and <strong>Hollywood<\/strong> for performances throughout the day. Busy is good!
