Alfred Hsing works on HBO’s Silicon Valley

Being from the bay area, Silicon Valley, and watching all the funny clips of Jian Yang and Erlich Bachman… it was a pleasure to work on Season 5 of Silicon Valley. 

The cast was incredible. I love the attention to detail that is put in on wardrobe, set design, even coding written on whiteboards. Matt Ross who plays Gavin Belson also directed this episode and he was great to work with. I love his sense because he understands both from the actor’s perspective and from the director’s perspective.. because he has done both! I always tell people that he also directed Captain Fantastic, a great film. If you haven’t seen it I definitely recommend checking it out.

Of course working with Jian Yang (Jimmy O Yang) was fun too. I am often playing action roles because of my martial arts background, but working on Silicon Valley just reminded me how much fun it is to work on a comedy. I love improv and getting the perfect timing in for awkward pauses and reactions.

Had a blast working on Silicon Valley and hope to work with the cast again.
