Bio
Alfred Hsing (邢思杰) is an actor and martial artist that is the first American to win a gold medal at the World Wushu Championships (wikipedia). After winning gold at the 2009 world wushu championships Alfred moved to China to work for Jet Li.
Alfred graduated from UCLA with a major in Economics and a minor in East Asian Languages and Culture (with an emphasis on China) and a specialization in Computing. Throughout college Alfred also took advantage of the theater and acting classes offered at UCLA. After college Alfred worked at KPMG and City National Bank while juggling acting and martial arts training on the side. Though it was difficult persistence paid off as he landed a number of projects including a lead role on Spike TV’s Deadliest Warrior which had the largest male viewer demographic for its time slot.
In 2009 Alfred made a life changing decision by quitting his job in order to train full-time for the World Wushu Championships. This decision paid off and he brought home the first gold medal ever for the US.
While working for Jet Li, Alfred was involved in production work, action choreography, talent management, entertainment contracts, and philanthropy. In 2010 Alfred appeared opposite Jet Li acting as one of his disciples in “The Sorcerer and the White Snake”.
After completing two major Chinese blockbusters with Jet Li (“The Sorcerer and the White Snake” and Tsui Hark’s “Flying Swords of Dragon Gate“), Alfred decided to continue his education in the performing arts. He was accepted into the Beijing Film Academy where he enrolled in and completed an advanced studies acting program.
Since Alfred’s move to China, he has worked as an actor, stuntman, action coordinator, and production associate. Some notable projects he has worked on include national commercials for Adidas, Feng Xiaogang’s “Back to 1942” with Adrien Brody and Tim Robbins, and “My Lucky Star” starring Zhang Ziyi and Wang Leehom.
